How the JEPF Business Directory Works

The directory is a list of businesses that have supported this foundation. That is the whole claim, and keeping it narrow is what makes it useful.
For a customer, it answers one question: of the businesses that could do this job, which ones have actually put money into the community they operate in? You can search by category and by city. Each business has its own page with its services, service area and contact details.
What it is not is a review site or a recommendation. We are not telling you a listed contractor does good work. We have not assessed that. We are telling you they funded education for young people who had very little, which is checkable and is a reasonable tiebreaker between two otherwise similar options.
For a business, the process is short. You apply, free, through the form. We review the submission, because a directory that lists anyone willing to pay tells a customer nothing and is worth nothing to the businesses in it. If approved, you get a private payment link for the supporter contribution. Once that clears, the listing goes live.
The fee is a one-time setup amount plus a recurring annual amount that keeps the listing live. Current figures are on the sponsorship page. Applying costs nothing and you are only asked to pay after approval.
If a renewal fails after retries, or a business cancels, the listing comes down from the public directory until it is reactivated. Nothing is deleted.
Where the money goes: books and school supplies, scholarships, mentoring and leadership development for at-risk young people, and the leadership training center JEPF is raising funds to build in Jamaica. Officers serve as volunteers and report no compensation.
